5 POWERFUL STEPS THAT ENSURE THE FULFILLMENT OF YOUR GOALS




Let's say you are at a point in your life where you're dissatisfied with your current experience.

Maybe you are fed up of your current job and you are craving for a new job. Maybe you dream of starting your own business and ditching your 9 to 5. Or you may want to travel the world. Or you yearn to own your dream house.


Whatever you desire to achieve is within your grasp. You simply have to believe that you can achieve it.

Or I can write it in this way: you simply have to convince yourself that you can achieve that goal.


How do I convince myself, you may ask?


Easy. By following these 5 steps.


1. USE THE PAST AND PRESENT

What if you are not clear about what you want?

You may have a vague idea of what your ideal life will look like. But the problem is that vague ideas and dreams will only produce confused outcomes.


Figure out what you want. How do you do that?


Think in terms of the things that have happened in the past. What experiences did you like? Take note of them. What experiences did you not like? Take note of them too.


For example, let's say you won an award in your department some time ago. Think about it. Did it feel good to win an award and receive acclaim in your workplace?


But, what if you hate your job and you can't wait to move on. What are the things you hate about it? Now that you know what you hate, use that to figure out what you would prefer. This is using the power of contrast.



2. LIST GOAL

By now, you have a clearer picture of what you desire.

You know what kind of job you desire. You know how much money you want to make and so on.


Give yourself permission to ask for what you want. Do you dream of becoming a popular singer like Burna Boy or Wizkid?


Write down your goal. Write it in detail. What kind of car do you desire? Where do you dream of living? Who would you like to marry?


Be clear on how your life will look like once your goal is achieved. If you need help with this, download pictures off the internet that represent your dream.



3. SEE THE GOAL AS A REALITY

See yourself as having achieved that goal.





If you are one of those that scoff at such a technique, let me tell you a secret. A lot of successful people, billionaires, celebrities and such like follow these principles.


If it works for them, why don't you try it out?


It's a scientific fact that our brains work using mental pictures. What you may not know is that the brain doesn’t know the difference between something you imagine with feeling and a real experience.


So, the more you imagine an outcome, the more you impress it on your mind and the more you believe it.


Regularly imagining an outcome makes up fake but believable memories in your mind. You start to believe that memory you made up actually happened.


Start using your powerful imagination. Imagine how your fulfilled goal will look like. Imagine the conversations you will have. Imagine how you will feel once the goal is achieved.


Let's say you want to be an actor, imagine that you're in front of the camera, playing a role. Imagine the director is nodding and smiling at you. You're doing a great job. Imagine your fellow cast mates are congratulating you for your good work. Imagine you're receiving an award.


For 30 days, take a few short minutes in the morning and at night to impress your subconscious mind with the fulfillment of your goal.


If you persist in your assumption, it will soon become fact. Through repetition, things are embedded into your subconscious. They cross over and become you.



4. SAY THANK YOU

After each imagining, say a mental 'Thank You'.


During the day, as you go about your life, if the thought pops up in your mind, say thank you that it is done.


With this you quench any doubts or fears that may try to sneak into your mind and add power to your visualization.



5. LET GO

This is the most important part.


Let go. Don't think about the how. Don't worry about what you need to do. Don't over-think things.




Just keep seeing your goal. And feel good. Smile when something reminds you of your goal.


Try not to discuss your desire with others unless you're very sure that you will receive support and encouragement from that person. The world is full of naysayers and those who say it can't be done. Keep your plans to yourself.


And as you keep imagining and feeling good, an idea will come or you will be motivated to take the steps you need to take.


Your goals are waiting for you. Without dreamers, there would be no Facebook, no Microsoft, no OWN channel, no Shondaland. The list could go on and on.
